THE INTEGRATED BREATHING SYSTEM
If you are buried under an avalanche oxygen is obviously essential to your survival. IAS is the first ever avalanche rescue system that integrates and combines solutions for burial and suffocation with just one movement. After pulling the activation handle you place the integrated mouthpiece into your mouth. To ensure oxygen supply, the handle draws fresh air from the surrounding snow, because even wet snow contains enough air to breathe. Special valves separate fresh, breathable air from the exhaled carbon dioxide. A tube drains the CO2 to the rear of the backpack. By separating inhaled from exhaled air, the IAS allows a longer survival time below the snow. The kink-proof though flexible tube protects from injuries.
